I went Blog Hopping ^_^ (+ getting in touch with other blogs)

Ok. So I'm not really sure what that means, but if it means visiting/"hopping" from one blog to another, then I officially went blog hopping a while ago. (I think the word speaks for itself)

I had so much fun visiting, reading and commenting on other people's blogs. :)

There is this blog of ten year old that's really cool(except for the fact that it's in FRENCH... coz I can't understand French..LOL) and a blog of a teenage girl who rEEaaaLLLYyyy loves her boyfriend [they look cute together :) ] and a whole lot of other blogs owned by people of different ages, gender, affiliation, etc. ---- and each blog is totally unique from the others.

There are these two articles that I've read (on two seperate blogs) . The first one is about Academics vs. Love (..or maybe it's the other way around...??? hmmm....oh well.) and the other one is about a girl asking for an advice about this certain guy. Surprisingly, I could very much relate to their posts so I can't help but leave a comment---an awfully long comment(ok. maybe not that long) but I hope it helps even just a TINY BIT.

If you take time to browse through the extremely huge blogosphere, you could actually learn a thing or two from other blogs and make some friends here and there.

One good way to get in touch with other blogs is by joining social network communities for bloggers and blog readers.

Yo Zup?! (+More about my cubing...)

hi.. !! Long time no post huh..? Well I've been really busy with school and everything so I wasn't able to write here...

Anyways, I'm still pretty much addicted with my cubes(magic cubes to be exact--I didn't say Rubik's b'coz I also have eastsHeens..LOL) I haven't had much time to practice but as of now, my fastest time on a 3x3 is 48 seconds (It was obviously a lucky solve..) and an average of about a minute(not bad right??)

I've been thinking about making a vid about some shortcuts I learned in solving a 3x3.. I was supposed to post an article about that but I think it would be pretty hard to explain it in writing so I would still be thinking about that during the holidays..

Speaking of holidays...

Oh. I have to go. We'll be doing a MAJOR clean up around the house for the WHOLE day and we're starting in a few minutes. so I really have to go..

Rubiks 4x4

Have I told you that I finally got my own (Eastsheen) 4x4??!!!!!hhhm... guess nOt... I just got it last Sept. 22 for my birthdaY.. Surprisingly, one of my classmates got it for me.. (aaaawwww... so sweet ^_^) I really can't thank him enough.. :)

Ok, so anyways, I don't get to play with it that much cOz I don't have much time to memorize another set of algOs---especially those for the PARITY CASES (yikes!! o_0) wELL basically, it's not that hard to solve. The only thing that's been holding me back are those long algos for the PARITY CASES. ! I guess I'll take care of that when I have plenty of time--- maybe this coming semestral break....

what are Parity cases????

Well... these are the cases that can never happen when solving a 3x3.. Because you see, in solving a 4x4, you would first collect and solve the center peices, pair up the edges ,and then you would solve it like a normal 3x3 cube. But since it has inner wedges unlike the 3x3, there are cases that prevent the cube form being solved---and this is where we apply those long ,,,dreadful AlgoS!!!!! waAAAh!!!!! (Ok, maybe I'm exagerating just a little bit,,.. LOL) BUt seriousLy, it's not as hard as I thought it would be :)

MEanwhile, I've been practicing with my 3x3... I just can't seem to get hands off of it... ! haha As of now my fastest time is 1:05.48 ,i think.. hmmm.....

I'm still using the layer by layer method but the keyhole method helps a lot.. Maybe I'll post some of the shortcuts I use including the Keyhole MEthod some time (NOTE: I learned all of those courtesy of YOUTUBE.. lol)

Oh well, I have to go.. I have to start reviewing for the exams tomorrow.. 'Till here

Rubik's Revenge...!!

I just can't help but share this to you.... I actually held a 4x4x4 Rubik's cube and solved it for the first time!!!! Weeeeeeee!!! So happy! ^_^ haha!

I got so excited that I did a photo shoot with the cube. LOL
I don't have my own 4x4 so i never really got the chance to get a hold of it,. I just borrowed the cube from our neighbor a while ago who happens to be somehow a "Rubik's cube addict" too...? I'm not really sure.. all I know is that he's really good at solving (at least that's what my younger sister told me)..
Anyways, back to the cube.. I'm definitely buying one! It's almost my birthday and I think I found the perfect gift for myself.. Haha.

I'll be posting an article about the "revenge" when I find the time...

So.. uhm.. I don't have much time right now.
So I guess that's it.. :)

Rubik's Cube!! (What is it?+algo what??!+speedcubing)

"Rubik's Cube is a mechanical puzzle invented in 1974 by a Hungarian sculptor and professor of architecture Ernő Rubik . Originally called the "Magic Cube" by its inventor, this puzzle was renamed "Rubik's Cube" by Ideal Toys in 1980 and also won the 1980 German Game of the Year, special award for Best Puzzle. *Different methods have been developed to solve the cube with the use of algorithms.

What are algoritms??

++ALGORITHM- It is formally a type of effective method in which a list of well-defined instructions for completing a task will, when given an initial state, proceed through a well-defined series of successive states, eventually terminating in an end-state.

**In other words, it is a sequence of instructions that when done in a certain number of repititions will accomplish a certain task.

Example of an Algorithm used on the standard cube:

Ri Di R D (right inverted, down iverted, right, down) -basic

+Right inverted- turn the right side of the cube counter clockwise as if the side is facing you

+Di- turn the down side of the cube counter clockwise as if the side is facing you

+R- Turn the right side of the cube clockwise" "

+D- turn the down side of the cube clockwise " "

When you repeat this 6 times, your cube will return to its original orientation.

To follow such algorithm, you must be aware about the parts of the cube, it's sides ,and the move notations. There are different representations used to indicate move notations ,but they basically mean the same thing.

Speedcubing- (also known as speedsolving, speed cubing or speed-cubing) is the activity of solving a Rubik's Cube or related puzzle as quickly as possible. Here, solving is defined as performing a series of moves that transforms an incomplete cube into a state where each of the cube's six faces is one single, solid color. Competitions are held around the world for speedsolving.

There are different methods of solving the cube. There is the layer by layer method (this is the one I use), the keyhole method, the fridrich method (As far as I know,this is the most commonly used method in speedsolving;however, you have to learn a lot of algorithms for this. And i mean a LOT.. not to scare you or anything :) ,Petrus method, Roux method.... etc. If you're a beginner, I suggest you learn the layer by layer method first :)

Ok.. So I have accounts almost everywhere: Youtube, imeem,facebook, multiply,friendster, gaiaonline, neopets, blogcatalog, disqus, yahoo, google,playlist, blogger, yuwie, and goodtree (Still thinking if there are sites that I have missed. haha ). I used to have accounts on myspace and tagged, but I canceled it. That's all the accounts I have (I think) because I have restricted myself of signing up on too many sites 'cause i know that I won't be able to keep track of all of them anyways.

Yup, as you have read on the title, I do have a channel on youtube. I made it about two years ago just for the sake of watching videos uploaded by others' and to comment on them , so I don't have my own videos. But I do have plans of making my own vids as soon as my mom sends me my own digital camera (oooh.... CAN'T wait!!!)--- Not to brag or anything. I'm just so excited about it. :)

I gave brainstormed '92 a make-over--new template and the modified header. What do you think? If you remember, I modified that header over there a few weeks ago ,but I had 2nd thoughts of using it. An Electron..

I just finished reading one of my friends' blog and I really enjoy reading his posts. I even like his blog better than mine. LOL (He's a new blogger by the way, http://eventsilog.blogspot.com/ )

His name is Bryan. We've been classmates since we were in the 2nd grade. I've spent so many unforgettable moments with him and he's just so fun to be with. So far, he holds the record for the person who made me laugh the hardest. Besides form that, he's like a psychic of some sort. Sometimes ,ok maybe most of the time, he know's what I'm thinking of and what I feel eventhough I don't say a word. And though I try to deny it, he knows SOME of my secrets. (Ok Bry, if you're reading this, you got me! You really got me! haha.)

He's someone worth the trust ,so I definitely trust him. (Again, Bry, if you're reading.... subukan mo lang talga! lagot ka sakin! LOL)

I bet you are wondering what the title has to do with the post. You'll know....someday. LOL

So ok, Rubiksmania didn't spread school ,but atleast it did reach another classroom and lasted for about two days . haha

*It's the first week and I've been very busy.

*waaaah!!! I've been elected class president!! NoooOOOO!!!! haha. Oh well, just pray for me.. LOL.

*I think Rubiksmania is about to spread in school and I'm beginning to think that it's my fault. haha.

**yes, yes.. The Rubik's Revolution is now up for grabs! (even here in the Philippines)This may be old news for some, but for those who are not aware, besides from it's cube shape, it is a lot different from the typical Rubik's Cube. It's electronic and does NOT need any algorithms to solve, so anybody can definitely get hooked up on this.

At first, I thought it would be just like the typical rubik's cube that would be scrambled and sovled and that the special thing about it is since it is electronic, it would have a built-in timer or something like that. I was wrong. Still, I think that you should check it out, because it might interest you ----especially to those who have their Rubik's collection or maybe planning to start one. This is definitely a great addition to the family.

Anyhow, honestly speaking, it didn't fascinate me that much. But if there's a cube that has a built-in timer in it, I would definitely go for it. (Wait, is there one??)

I still think it's cool and fun. Go and check it out for yourself. :)

This new feature of Blogger allows us to make posts in advance and schedule it for publishing in the future. This is indeed very convinient esp. to those who have busy schedules and want to keep their blog updated.

A few hours ago I just made advance posts for the next few days. Cool huh?? This will really come in handy for the coming school days. ;)

THE Rubik's Cube

I've been spending a lot of time with my rubik's cube lately. I'm not that good at it. I just found it interesting. If I have time, maybe I'll post some tips on solving it and other stuff about it.

NOTE: I'm NOT an expert.. :)

Right now, I'm working on the 3x3x3 cube which is the standard cube, and hoping to work on the 4x4x4 soon(also known as Rubik's revenge). If I get the chance and develop some skills, I was hoping I could write my own algorithms. (Just hoping ... ) Wish me luck :)

THE LOST KINGDOM (introduction)

**Remember when I told you that I'm going to share some of my previous works here in my blog? Then here's another one. I made this when I was in 6th Grade for our English activity :) Our teacher told us to write a short story but I guess I got carried away so ended up submitting this 3-page story.... and guess what?? It ended up being posted in our "English corner"!! I had to summarize it though ,but what the heck?! It got potsed!!! haha :) I was so happy (and I still am. :D )

The concept is a bit common but I really do hope that you'll find the whole story interesting.

I will be posting the whole version of the story but I will divide it into several posts so it won't look too massive to read. It's not a masterpiece or anything but I do hope that it won't bore you in any way.

I still have to do a few tweaks here in there so I'm not sure when I'll publish the first post.

PLOT: The story is about a kingdom that was cursed , how it got lost, and how the chosen one brought it back to life.

Everybody needs some "Alone Time"..

Something about the image: LOL. That's me in the picture. That cute thing over there at the side is my friend's treasured stuffed toy. My friend took it a few days ago (May 23 to be exact)when we had our get together. I was in the mood for a bit of "Alone time" and before I knew it, "CLICK!", he took a picture and teased me that I was being sentimental again. haha. :D

**Have you ever felt sometimes that you just want to be alone or maybe just be invisible?

+You know? Just YOU. Staring blankly into space..? +Thinking about things you haven't thought of before or maybe of the things that have been bothering you for the past few days or weeks...?

+Reminiscing the joyful and sad memories that you have come through....?

+Smiling and suddenly laughing out loud,after remembering hilarious moments, while people (or even animals) staring strangely at you possibly thinking, "Is he/she ok, or does he/she need psychiatric help??"...?

+Lying flat on your back, staring at the ceiling, trying to remember when you last cleaned it...?

+Staring closely at yourself on the mirror suddenly exclaming, "Shocks! I have a zit!" ...?

+Getting lost in you imagination, got back, looked at your watch and just realized that you are late for class...?

+Getting on a public vehicle, and again, getting lost in your imagination, got back again, and realized that you are wAy waAAAAyyyy past the place you where supposed to get off...?

**I know I do(most of the time actually).

Hey, there's nothing wrong with that. It's good to have some "Alone time" once in a while. Taking a break from everything that's around you and to just relax,take a deep breath and spend some quality time with yourself. It helps relieve stress and it really is relaxing. But of course, keep in mind that "no man is an island".

Too much of what we call "Alone time" will drive you crazy.

yey!!! I just finished making my own header!!!

I made it using PAINT, uploaded it on PHOTOBUCKET, made a few adjustments and there, I have my personalized header. :)

I'm not really an expert in putting colors together but I think this will do. I'm new to this whole blogging thing and I'm not really sure of what to do so I'll just start with introducing myself.

So I'm a senior high school student( S.Y. '08-'09); President of the Student Council; Class President;dance club member; an honor student; and a C.A.T officer. I've joined a couple of contests in school like poster making,quiz bee,singing contests and dance contests and I also participate in school programs. With those descriptions, some of you may already think that I'm an outgoing and very confident person---two of the things that contradicts my personality. I've been joining contests because I want to improve my self-esteem and confidence.

I'm not really participative in class recitations. It's seldom for me to raise my hand in class because I'm one of those persons who are afraid of making mistakes. I'm more of the "listener type". My favorite subjects are MATH,ENGLISH and SCIENCE. I find these subjects very much interesting (though some students find it brain exploding.. haha ;P )

Well, I admit , it's not really easy, but if you take time to understand it, I'm sure you'll find it really fascinating. ;)

I'm a perfectionist when it comes to almost everything I do, so most of the time I end up disappointing myself. It's like I have these brilliant visions and ideas, and when I'm in the process of applying it, I just don't know what to do... (You know what I mean right?)

As I have previously said, I like joining extra-curricular activities in school (even though I always get the nerves and sometimes end up humiliating myself :D ). Well, my mom isn't really supportive about these stuff so most of the time she gets mad at me for spending too much time in school,school works and such activities . She said that I'm just stressing myself out and making things more complicated for me--undeniably true and I clearly know what she means,but I really can't help myself . ;) It's tiring but so far, I enjoy what I do.

I have been into drawing before and I also tried making portraits. I also have made a few poems and a short story when i was in grade school , wrote a song when i was a high school freshman(i think) and have experienced making scripts for class plays. (I'll post some of my works soon ) In sports: volleyball,a bit of basketball and table tennis, and badminton. I dance but I still wish i can do ballet. I sing but I'm not sure if I am good at it. I've also tried playing some musical instruments.

In spite of all the things that I have tried, I'm still finding that one thing that I'm really,really,really good at. I have this belief that "each and everyone of us has this thing where we excel even without much effort---you know? the natural talent that is waiting to be enhanced. I can do a bit of almost everything but I'm still not sure if i have found that ONE thing. hmmmmmm..........?
